This video tells the Stolpersteine story of the Schrijver–Davidson–Polak family, direct ancestors of Gaby’s husband. All family members from the Nieuwe Kerkstraat were deported and murdered in Auschwitz: Esther Schrijver–Davidson, her daughter Marianne Polak–Schrijver, her son-in-law Willem Polak, and her sister Sara Davidson. Through family memories preserved in the book Joodse Huizen, their personalities, humor, and everyday life are remembered. Their Stolpersteine in Amsterdam honor their lives and preserve this important part of Jewish heritage and Holocaust history. This video was made to honour their lives.
